Realization of a Smart Community as a Future Eco City

[Abstract]
As an organization promoting technological development, NEDO promotes smart community-related activities in collaboration with private enterprises, universities and public research institutes. The nature of energy-oriented societies is now being reconsidered following the Great East Japan Earthquake. I will therefore present an outline of our outlook and strategies for utilizing a secure, safe, environmentally-friendly as well as economically superior smart community to realize a future eco city.
